Product photos at home with a light box
Shoppers judge a product by its photos first. For small items, a light box gives you the clean main shot most product pages need without a studio.
Steps
- Set up a foldable LED light box on a table away from windows, so daylight doesn't change the colour.
- Use the plain white or grey backdrop for the main image.
- Put your phone on a small tripod or a stack of books so every shot is framed the same way.
- Tap to focus on the product, lower the exposure slightly if white areas look washed out, and take several shots.
- Shoot the extras too: a photo showing scale (in a hand or next to a common object) and close-ups of details.
Keep it consistent
Use the same backdrop, distance and angle for every product so your collection pages look tidy.
